On December 21st, a Search and Rescue Program was undertaken with the instruction of emergency response experts from the University of California at Irvine and Laguna Beach California in Southern California to train scouts and scout leaders. Real-world case studies were reviewed to illustrate important principles.
Immersive simulation exercises were undertaken to practice immediate search methods. Both water team and land-based teams practiced incident command methodologies and location of victims. Water rescue techniques were reviewed and practiced by boy scouts and their leaders.
